What is the drug NORSPRILAN®

NORSPRILAN® contains the active substance pirfenidone and is used for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). IPF is a condition in which the lung tissue becomes swollen and scarred over time, making it difficult to breathe deeply. This prevents your lungs from working properly. Pirfenidone reduces scarring, which allows you to breathe better.

The mechanism of action of pirfenidone is not fully established, but it is known that it exhibits antifibrosing and anti-inflammatory properties (reduces inflammation and scarring of the lung tissue). Pirfenidone belongs to the pharmacotherapeutic group called "immunosuppressants".

Packaging

90 tablets each in a high-density polyethylene bottle, sealed with a polypropylene lid with first opening control and child protection.

1bottle together with a leaflet insert is placed in a pack of cardboard.

Indications for use

Pirfenidone is used to treat idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) in adults (over 18 years of age).

Efficacy and safety studies

In accordance with current legislation, the drug has proven its effectiveness, safety and quality during state registration. For registration purposes, a bioequivalence study was conducted with the original (reference) medicinal product.
